I am currently in my Fourth Year at Abertay University studying Computer Games Technology, and loving every minute of it.
I don't know why I look so depressed
Games
When I'm not slaving away at Uni, I enjoy playing a variety of video games (I'm sure you're shocked). I spend far too many hours shooting my friends in the face in games such as 'Rainbow Six Siege' and'Destiny 2' or getting obsessive about those high scores on the rhythm games 'Beat Saber' and 'Amplitude'. I also enjoy a casual strategy game in particular Civilization 6' or 'XCOM 2', and you can't go wrong with an action roleplaying game like 'Bloodborne' and 'Dark Souls' or getting immersed into the amazing stories of 'God of War' and 'The Last of Us'.
Sportz
In an attempt to counter the ridiculous amount of pasta I consume I participate in a number of sporting activities, mainly rock climbing and Historical European Martial Arts (think MMA, but with longswords and the occasional shield), because you can never be too ready for the zombie apocalypse.
Reading
When I'm not using the digital word to ignore my problems, I use the written one instead. Mainly fantasy/sci-fi, I am currently trying to read my way through all of Brandon Sanderson's book (seriously if you enjoy reading fantasy books, check out 'The Stormlight Archive'). 'The Lightbringer Series' by Brent Weeks is also a good shout. If you want something a little more close to home 'The Peter Grant Series' by Ben Aaronovitch is a fun read.
Music
I play a variety of musical instruments, mainly the drums and guitar and I have a keen interest in music theory, combined with my interest in procedural content, my honours project is not overly surprising (here). I am also a member of the Dundee University Social Choir.
Art
I have used photoshop for 10 years and am able to use it to a high standard. I enjoy using it to create textures and 2D sprite assets, I have recently branched out into developing 3D designs. In my free time, I enjoy testing my ideas in Unity to incorporate them into games at a later stage.
